Explore all we have to offer March to October inclusive. Get a group together and book us independently. Monday & Thursday afternoons are available for your bespoke three hour session.
We have books, laminated ID sheets, bug pots, a small pond, woodcraft room, general craft room, physical activity equipment ranging from a zip wire to rope swing. We have a mud kitchen and den building area. Resources behind the scenes are vast and you may request equipment for the woodcraft room and things such as fire lighting kits.
There is always at least one member of staff available to assist as needed, please always ask, if we have you may borrow it! If you would like help exploring then we will be on hand to make it possible. Kirsty oversees our Home Education session, she is a Home Educator herself and is well placed to create a great environment for exploration, socialisation and fun.
We endeavour to provide you with the tools to lead your own learning as well as provide one led topic of our own. The age range is wide so sometimes our led session will be aimed at younger members and on other occasions we will seek to meet the needs of older attendees. Primarily we wish to facilitate your learning needs rather than impose intense structured activities upon you.
We will always have the fire lit and will have a basic stock cupboard of bread mix, herbs & spices etc, but we anticipate you will bring your own ingredients if your learning requires the open fire. On occasion our led session will be based around cooking on the open fire. We will let you know when this is the case.
We expect children to be in the care of an adult. We can not be directly responsible for individual children, therefore they can not be dropped off and left, an allocated adult must remain on site.
We ALWAYS anticipate that you will wash your own utensils up and assist with clearing up at the end.

Home education sessions
Home-education is an alternative to children attending school; many families choose to exercise their legal right to take primary responsibility for the education of their children. We provide an environment where you can come & develop natural, child led teaching opportunities.
Bring food for the fire and cook with your children. All we ask is that you supervise your children and that if you cook you cook with them, if they work in woodcraft, you work with them and if they want to play and socialise you keep an eye on them.
Yes, you can just turn up but our sessions do get booked up so it’s best to book online before you visit.
Who can come?
- This session is suitable for children aged 3 and over accompanied by their parents or carers.
- We also welcome younger children attending with older siblings.
